Travelers expands cat XoL treaty to $750mn

Travelers grew its main northeast cat treaty by $150mn in the July renewals to secure $750mn of cover, as its half-year cat losses rose to eat up almost half the retention on its calendar-year aggregate reinsurance.

The company renewed its northeast occurrence property catastrophe excess-of-loss reinsurance treaty at 1 July, sourcing $750mn of cover to part-fill an $850mn layer in excess of a $2.25bn
