Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility increases coverage to $1.2bn

Member governments of the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) have purchased $1.2bn worth of parametric insurance coverage for the coming year, up 10% year-on-year.

The coverage covers tropical cyclones, excess rainfall, earthquakes and the fisheries sector for the policy year 2022/2023.

Overall, 13 member governments increased their coverage compared to the prior year.
