Cat bond rates widened 10%-20% in the primary market in Q2, driven by volume of issuance versus available capital, and depending on the peril and deal structure, noted Aon Securities in its quarterly ILS report.

Total issuance of $4.86bn was transacted across 23 deals and 34 classes of note despite wider macroeconomic headwinds such as inflation, interest rates and currency fluctuations.
