Economic losses from recent flooding across Missouri and Kentucky is expected to exceed $1bn, although many losses will remain uninsured, according to Aon’s weekly cat report.

St Louis, Missouri and eastern Kentucky were hardest hit by historic rainfall that battered large parts of the US at the end of July, resulting in 37 fatalities in Kentucky alone.
