Florida market will 'remain hard for the foreseeable future': UPC CEO

United Insurance Holdings CEO Dan Peed expects that the Florida homeowners' sector will continue to grapple with a hard market driven by "a skeptical and hard capital and reinsurance market" along with "elevated catastrophe activity" and "excessive litigation levels."

On a call with analysts, the CEO said: "We continue to experience inflation and excessive litigation levels in Florida causing significantly increased severity in current and prior accident years."
