The German reinsurance market is expected to secure “significant improvements” in risk-adjusted pricing in the current inflationary environment, and following a year of substantial claims activity, according to Hannover Re German subsidiary E+S Rück.

The reinsurer said that, in Germany, the insured losses in the first half of 2022 alone surpassed the multi-year average, driven by damaging winter storms Ylenia, Zeynep and Antonia.
