FEMA pay-out figure for Hurricane Ian increases to $769mn

The US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has now paid out nearly $770mn to households affected by Hurricane Ian and $360mn to the state of Florida.

The pay-out figure has nearly doubled over the last two weeks.

Earlier this month, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) confirmed it had received more than 44,000 flood claims from the storm and paid out $437mn to policyholders.
