Brindle: Hard market will spell end for cat treaty ‘sacred cows’

A hard reinsurance market reminiscent of the post-Hurricane Andrew scene will spell the end for several “sacred cows” of traditional treaty placements, Fidelis group chairman Richard Brindle told this publication. 

He listed soft market structures such as top and drops or cascading covers, as well as multi-year programs, as examples of transactions that had evaporated, alongside all-perils coverage.
