Hannover Re’s additional retro capacity secured at 1 January will provide the carrier with “dry powder” to deploy throughout 2023, according to board member Sven Althoff.

In its 1 January renewals report published this morning, Hannover Re revealed that it has expanded its nat-cat retrocession cover from EUR860mn ($924mn) to EUR1.34bn
