Insurance Australia Group (IAG)’s New Zealand operations - AMI, State and NZI - have received 2,300 claims from customers affected by Cyclone Gabrielle, the carrier has said in an update.

The insurer said it expects this number to “rise significantly” in the coming days as customers assess damage, and as evacuated residents return home.
